Tour description:

Participants will visit the rehabilitation centre while it is in operation and see several halls that have:

- simulators for the video analysis of movements with 12 cameras, infrared cameras that can assess 18,000 signals per second (which helps to evaluate the stability of joints, the speed of movement in joints, and changes in movement parameters using motion capture);
- tenso platforms (which assess the state of the muscular system, coordination, and the proprioception system);
- equipment for the rehabilitation and testing of parameters of the muscular system and the identification of the speed of muscle fibre contractions and curves;
- simulators that are as close as possible to various sports;
- testing equipment for cardiological patients and athletes;
- a room where neurological patients undergo rehabilitation after cerebrovascular accidents and damage as a result of trauma and traumatic brain injuries.

In the Resuscitation and Intensive Care Unit 2, participants will get to see the live operation of the Erigo verticalizer, a table with an integrated robotic orthopaedic device that can provide intensive therapy during the very early stage of rehabilitation.

Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre National Medical Research Centre (TRC or the Centre) is a multidisciplinary institution with almost 500 beds and a full range of surgical and therapeutic specializations, including orthopaedics, neurosurgery, and oncology. The centre is a leading institution for rehabilitation at all stages of the postoperative period for diseases of any severity.

Each year, the country’s leading specialists examine and treat over 200,000 patients in more than 30 different areas of medical care. The centre provides a closed cycle of oncological care: diagnosis, surgical treatment, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy.

One unique feature of the TRC is its medical and physical rehabilitation service that has been providing assistance for 25 years. The centre features all types of modern rehabilitation: neurorehabilitation, rehabilitation of patients with spinal diseases, rehabilitation after injuries and orthopaedic operations, cardiac rehabilitation, and rehabilitation of persons involved in professional and amateur sports.

Modern equipment, spacious halls, a swimming pool, unique exercise equipment, including equipment developed by the centre itself, allow for rehabilitating both patients with neurological, trauma, and cardiovascular diseases, as well as athletes and children.

The TRC offers personal assessments of patients’ physical features and a video analysis of their movements using unique equipment that is only available in three countries, and as a result, can provide recommendations for training in various sports.
