Tour description:

Presentation of the main activities of the Diagnostics and Telemedicine Centre of the Moscow Healthcare Department:

1. Demonstration of phantoms at the Scientific and Educational Laboratory. The products assist physicians in clinical practice for transcranial ultrasound examinations, densitometry, the monitoring of quantitative CT and MRI parameters, mammography, and ultrasound-guided biopsies of the thyroid gland.

2. Demonstration of the work of radiologists at the Moscow Reference Centre: description of radiation studies, work in the Unified Radiological Information Service (URIS) of the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System (UMIAS), and the use of Voice2Med voice input technology as digital assistants and artificial intelligence services.

3. Demonstration of the work of artificial intelligence services, the results of Moscow’s experiment to incorporate computer vision into medicine, as well as the Centre’s own developments for the data-based management of radiology diagnostic services.

The Centre for Diagnostics and Telemedicine is a leading academic, research, and telemedicine organization within the Moscow Healthcare Department that was founded in 1996. It specializes in high-precision diagnostics based on radiation and instrumental studies, organizing the work of units at medical organizations, and improving the quality of diagnostic studies through the standardization of activities, dissemination of best medical practices, introduction of innovative technologies, quality control, and equipment safety.

In 2020, the first medical cluster for X-rays, radiology, and instrumental diagnostics in the healthcare system was established at the Centre for Diagnostics and Telemedicine. It includes: the Moscow Reference Centre for Radiation Diagnostics, Science and Training Centre, Testing Laboratory, and other expert units. The centre has a unique research base and personnel with high potential, who are entrusted with working to develop the capital’s diagnostic industry.

The Centre for Diagnostics and Telemedicine:

Improves the quality and accessibility of diagnostic services and disseminates best medical practices in collaboration with clinicians;
Interprets, audits, and conducts quality control of X-ray and radiological studies, provides second opinions, and offers consultations;
Provides organizational and methodological support for the activities of medical organizations that are subordinate to the Moscow Healthcare Department;
Conducts fundamental and applied research on radiation and instrumental diagnostics and develops diagnostic techniques;
Engages in editorial and publishing activities and develops international scientific and technical cooperation;
Incorporates artificial intelligence algorithms into practical healthcare and expands the capabilities of telemedicine and teleradiology;
Provides postgraduate education for radiologists, X-ray technicians, and doctors in ultrasound diagnostics and management in radiology, as well as specialists in artificial intelligence and telemedicine technologies;
Conducts radiation and dosimetric monitoring of X-ray equipment and tests and assesses effective radiation doses;
Monitors legal documents on radiation and instrumental diagnostics, assesses their regulatory impact, suggests improvements to the regulatory framework, and develops new standards.
