NATIONAL HEALTHCARE 2023 Congress Releases Business Programme

The 2nd National Congress with international participation “NATIONAL HEALTHCARE 2023” has released the event’s business programme on its official website.

The event is being organized by the Russian Ministry of Health and the Roscongress Foundation. The organizing partner of the event is the Russian Research Institute of Health of the Russian Ministry of Health. The Congress will take place at the International RUSSIA EXPO at VDNH on 1–2 December 2023.

“The business programme of the NATIONAL HEALTHCARE 2023 Congress showcases the most prominent achievements of our country’s healthcare system in recent years. The discussion is scheduled to be attended by leaders of other industries – our partners, state corporations, and businesses. Leading experts in healthcare and the medical and pharmaceutical industry, as well as the regulatory authorities will speak during discussions about the development of healthcare, ways to improve the quality and life expectancy of citizens, and the introduction of medical innovations. The participation of international experts provides the opportunity to obtain external expertise, and also take into account the experience of other countries. And the presentation of the regions’ best practices creates a foundation for scaling the most effective tools,” said Olga Kobyakova, Director of the Russian Research Institute of Health of the Russian Ministry of Health.

The scope of the business programme sessions is consistent with the current agenda for the sustainable development of the healthcare system, its adaptation to new challenges, and the role of healthcare as a strategic resource for the country’s economic growth. The two-day programme includes more than 30 events in different formats. The participants in the expert discussions will include the heads of government agencies, major research centres, institutions, and companies that work in healthcare, medical and related technologies, and representatives of patient organizations. Foreign experts in various fields of healthcare will also take part in the Congress.

The themes of the sessions are: state support and the introduction of innovative developments in medicine, the digitalization of healthcare, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, the development of the domestic production of blood products and vital medicines, and the country’s infectious safety. As part of the business programme, experts will also discuss such issues as the training of medical personnel, the financial sustainability of the healthcare system, and progress in the fight against non-communicable diseases, among other topics.

Two sessions will be devoted to discussing the Moscow Standard in healthcare. The following thematic sessions are planned: ‘Medicine and Quality’, which will be co-organized by the Russian Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare, and ‘Organization of a Long-Term Care System’, which will be co-organized by the Russian Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. The special session ‘Organization of the Domestic Production of Blood Products as a Contribution to Ensuring the Security of the National Healthcare System’ will be organized jointly with the Russian Federal Medical-Biological Agency.

In addition, a ceremony will be held during the Congress to present awards to the best doctors and best medical workers with secondary education, as well as the best young teachers at medical universities.

On the day before the Congress, participants will take tours of leading federal centres and research institutes, including the Vishnevsky National Medical Research Centre of Surgery and Herzen Moscow Oncology Research Institute, and leading medical institutions in Moscow, including the Puchkov Emergency Medical Care Station.

The Congress will conclude with a lecture by Russian Minister of Health Mikhail Murashko titled ‘Healthcare Development in the Russian Federation: Past, Present, Future’.
