Designing an environment that protects people’s health is becoming a key element of the public healthcare system. Such an environment not only ensures comfortable living conditions, but also promotes public health. It is being integrated into all facets of life: from urban planning and the development of transport infrastructure to the organization of workplaces and residential spaces. Effective urban design, in turn, creates a landscape that has a positive impact on people’s physical, cognitive, and emotional recovery. Not only does such an environment reduce disease rates and improve the overall quality of life of citizens, it also helps to create a sustainable socio-ecological system in which taking care of one’s health becomes a natural component of everyday life. Which architectural, urban, and design solutions have proven effective in improving people’s quality of life? What criteria are used to evaluate the successful integration of health-promoting principles into urban design? What role do digital services and platforms play in shaping one’s own personal environment and supporting people’s motivation to lead a healthy lifestyle? What state incentive mechanisms could be developed to motivate businesses to introduce corporate employee health programmes and developers to integrate design principles that ensure the protection of people’s health into residential and commercial real estate projects?
