The number of patients with type 1 diabetes is on the rise worldwide. Today, technological and digital innovations, as well as new classes of diabetes medications, are rapidly changing the landscape of patient care, increasing the accuracy of diagnostics, enhancing disease management, and improving quality of life. These medications need to be quickly adopted into healthcare and be made widely available to patients. Special attention should be paid to regional practices for organizing care for patients with type 1 diabetes, including programmes for continuous remote interaction between physicians and patients, the opening of regional endocrinology centres, and the establishment of additional diabetes schools. What are currently the most promising innovative technologies, including Russian-made ones, for the early detection and treatment of diabetes and the automation of monitoring processes? How can we accelerate their introduction? Which regional practices for supporting patients with type 1 diabetes need to be scaled up to the federal level? How can lifestyle education for patients with diabetes, including those living in remote areas, be effectively integrated into the healthcare system? How can we ensure equal access to specialized medical care for each and every patient, regardless of the region where they reside?
