Family plays a key role in preserving people’s health because it creates the environment in which they live and take everyday decisions. The level of support and care within the family determines both a person’s physical and emotional well-being. Without this resource, preventive care and longevity often depend solely on an individual’s efforts, whereas family involvement makes them sustainable and natural. The family is what ingrains negative attitudes toward such unhealthy habits as smoking, a poor diet, or alcohol abuse, while conversely promoting a commitment to physical activity and preventive healthcare, as well as a willingness to promptly seek medical care and follow medical recommendations. As such, families not only become a social institution, but also a crucial factor in achieving healthy longevity at all stages of a person’s life. What state regulation measures could help not only reduce society’s dependence on unhealthy habits, but also ensure a commitment to healthy behaviour within the paradigm of family values? What role could business and the media play in shaping the family traditions of a healthy lifestyle?
