An expert session dedicated to protecting health in the interests of human capital took place on the first day of the 3rd National Congress with International Participation “National Healthcare” as part of the ‘Affordable Modern Medical Production’ track. The Congress was organized by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The organizational partner of the event was the Russian Research Institute of Health.
The retention of human capital is a state priority that becomes even more important in light of modern challenges and the nation’s socio-demographic and economic security. ‘Long and Active Life’ and ‘New Health-Saving Technologies’ national projects will kick off in 2025 by decree of the Russian President in an attempt to modernize the healthcare system, contribute to scientific development, support the pharmaceutical industry, and nurture a more health-minded culture through a broad range of important tasks, from the development of an innovative environment for health protection to the development of new biomedical and cognitive technologies for active longevity and the fight against chronic disease.
The discussion was moderated by Deputy Chief of Staff of the Government of the Russian Federation Olga Krivonos: “As global challenges multiply and change continues at breakneck speed, it is increasingly important that we invest in health as a part of our sustainable development strategy. We can increase productivity, reduce the cost of healthcare, and improve social stability by preventing illness, creating safer working conditions, and being mindful of people’s physical and mental well-being. Indeed, beyond simply improving quality of life, programmes protecting health can ensure our nation’s long-term economic and social security.”
The session was attended by Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Tatyana Semenova, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Ekaterina Priezzheva, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Denis Sekirinsky, Vice President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Mikhail Piradov, Director of the National Medical Research Center for Therapy and Preventive Medicine and Chief Visiting Specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Oksana Drapkina, Director of the Russian Gerontological Research and Clinical Center, N.I. Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University and Chief Visiting Geriatrician Specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation Olga Tkacheva, and Chief Physician at the Clinic of Preventive Medicine and Academician of the B.V. Petrovsky Russian Scientific Center for Surgery Inna Reshetova.
