The 3rd National Congress with International Participation “National Healthcare” will be held in Moscow on 28–29 October 2024 with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The event is being organized by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation. The organizational partner of the event is the Russian Research Institute of Health of the Russian Ministry of Health.
The Congress is being held at the Lomonosov Cluster of the Sparrow Hills ISTC of Moscow State University on 28 October 2024 and in the Great Hall of the State Kremlin Palace on 29 October 2024.
The programme consists of eight thematic tracks: ‘Making Healthy People’, ‘Accessible Medical Care Wherever You Are’, ‘Uniting Prevention and Treatment’, ‘Involving the Public in Public Health Policy’, ‘Managing Health Scientifically’, ‘Ensuring Sanitary Well-Being’, ‘Providing Everyone with Affordable, Healthy Food’, and ‘Affordable Modern Medical Production’.
The plenary session, ‘National Healthcare: From Nikolay Semashko to the Present Day’, will be held in the Great Hall of the State Kremlin Palace on 29 October and will bring the Congress to a close in fine fashion with a discussion of key areas of development and achievements of the Russian healthcare system in the light of the outstanding Soviet healthcare organizer Nikolay Semashko. The plenary session will be moderated by Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova.
“Health issues are integral to state policy, a priority for the country, and essential to the well-being of society and national development. The Congress is a unique opportunity for leading medical specialists, scientists, and practitioners to exchange experience and knowledge. The event will host discussions of important issues related to disease prevention and how to improve the quality of medical services, introduce innovative technologies, and train more qualified personnel. The achievements of the Russian healthcare system and the experience gained during the coronavirus infection bear witness to the continued relevance of the principles laid down by Nikolay Semashko. National projects to modernize healthcare are founded on these principles and further proof of their legacy and influence on modern realities. Sessions in the ‘Uniting Prevention and Treatment’ track are dedicated to an integrated approach to fighting cardiovascular and oncological diseases, strategies for a national response to hepatitis C, innovation in emergency medicine, and a session titled ‘Moscow 2030: The Healthcare of the Future’ sharing best practices from the nation’s capital.
Sessions in the ‘Accessible Medical Care Wherever You Are’ track look at existing models for managing chronic disease, innovation in medical rehabilitation, what we could learn about primary healthcare from the Republic of Bashkortostan, and the development of federal medical organizations.
The ‘Managing Health Scientifically’ track includes sessions devoted to new strategies for ensuring the medical industry is equipped with competent personnel, the development and outlook for the future ranks of management personnel, the efficiency and quality of medical care, a unified digital ‘Health’ platform, and best regional practices reducing mortality rates.
The ‘Making Healthy People’ track consists of sessions titled ‘Healthy Children: An Integrated Approach to Maternal and Child Health’ and ‘The Foundation of a Healthy Nation: A Healthy Family Across Generations’.
The ‘Affordable Modern Medical Production’ track includes sessions titled ‘The New Health Saving Technologies 2025–2030 National Project’, ‘Innovation in Action: How Technology is Changing Medicine’, and ‘Drug Security’.
The national fight against obesity and diabetes will up for discussion as part of the ‘Providing Everyone with Affordable, Healthy Food’ track.
The ‘Involving the Public in Public Health Policy’ track includes sessions titled ‘A Healthy Society: Steps to Common Well-Being’ and ‘Industrial Medicine in the Age of Automation and Artificial Intelligence’.
The session on food quality is part of the ‘Ensuring Sanitary Well-Being’ track.
A unique exhibition on the sidelines of the Congress dedicated to Nikolay Semashko titled ‘From Semashko to the Present Day’ will acquaint participants with the life and work of the outstanding healthcare organizer.
