Dates Announced for National Healthcare Congress 2024

The 3^rd National Congress with International Participation “National Healthcare” will be held in Moscow on 28–29 October 2024 with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation. The event is being organized by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation and the Roscongress Foundation. The organizational partner of the event is the Russian Research Institute of Health of the Russian Ministry of Health.

“The fact the National Healthcare Congress is taking place on the 150th anniversary of the birth of Nikolay Semashko gives the event special significance because it pays tribute to one of the founders of the Soviet healthcare system and gives us a chance to discuss priorities and strategies for developing our national healthcare system. The Congress business programme consists of discussions and events dedicated to future federal projects aimed at improving the quality of medical care, making it more accessible, introducing innovative new technologies, and increasing life expectancy and the health of all our fellow citizens. Congress participants will include leading experts, policy makers, and representatives of the medical and scientific communities, and they will discuss major issues and challenges facing healthcare, identify specific steps for addressing them, and lay a solid foundation for future industry development. As in previous years, the Congress will also sum up the results of this year’s work and present the results of large-scale programmes and projects currently being implemented federally and regionally,” Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko said.

The Congress will be held at the Lomonosov Cluster of the Sparrow Hills ISTC of Moscow State University on 28 October and at the Great Hall of the State Kremlin Palace on 29 October. The latter venue will host the central event of the Congress, the plenary session ‘From Nikolay Semashko to the Present Day’, which is dedicated to the 150^th anniversary of the birth of the prominent scientist and doctor.

The National Healthcare Congress 2024 is an official flagship event for the medical community and the healthcare sector as a whole, which brings together industry leaders and managers, representatives of the legislative and executive authorities at the federal and regional levels, as well as leading Russian and foreign experts and opinion leaders to discuss the most pressing issues in healthcare, the modernization of the industry, and ways to strengthen public health in order to increase people’s life expectancy and improve their quality of life.

This year, the 3^rd National Congress with International Participation “National Healthcare 2024” is taking place on the 150^th anniversary of the birth of prominent Soviet healthcare organizer Nikolay Semashko, whose healthcare model and its basic principles are still pertinent today and are used in many countries around the world.

The business programme of the 3^rd National Healthcare Congress will focus on the priorities of the national healthcare system in terms of future federal projects, as well as a discussion of end-to-end solutions for the industry.
