National medical research centres (NMRCs) play a key role in establishing and improving quality standards and uniform requirements for the provision of medical care in Russia. NMRCs are the ones that integrate innovative developments, the latest scientific achievements, and best practices into practical medicine. The knowledge and experience of NMRC specialists are key resources for the implementation of such national projects as ‘A Long and Active Life’, ‘Family’, and ‘New Health Preserving Technologies’, which aim to ensure the comprehensive development of the healthcare system. What strategies have proven to be the most effective for integrating scientific achievements into practical medicine? How can we improve the quality of interaction between NMRCs and regional medical institutions? How does interaction between NMRC employees and government officials affect the quality and accessibility of medical care? What is the current outlook today for the integration of advanced medical technologies and innovations with the involvement of federal medical institutions?
